Beverages under the microscope

What does that look like under a microscope? – Beverage Edition

As a scientist I often wonder, “What does this look like under a microscope?” And often I have been able to quench my own curiosity by popping the item on a slide either under one of the many microscopes in the lab or my one at home. But I have to admit I have never glimpsed what my favorite cocktail looks like.

A unique company called BevShots has used the science of microscopy to create some pretty mesmerizing pieces of art by taking pictures of crystalized liquids under a polarized light microscope. Lights scatters through the crystals to create a rainbow of colour, therefore there was no need to alter or enhance the images to create these masterpieces.
