Lab Technician – Antibodies & Kits

StressMarq Biosciences is seeking a lab technician to join our growing company. This is a full-time annual contract position that can be extended if successful, reporting to a Lab Manager. The new technician will be trained on existing SOPs to support the Antibody & Kit department, with opportunities to participate in new product development.

The day-to-day work for this position includes preparing buffers, casting and running SDS-PAGE gels and/or transfers, planning and running western blots, target review, data visualization such as labelled gel images, line & bar graphs, etc., data entry into shared databases, drafting/revising SOPs, general lab & equipment maintenance activities such as reagent/consumable inventory, autoclaving materials & supplies, and clean-up.

On a weekly to biweekly basis, the technician will be assigned specific projects by a lab manager, which can include kit manufacturing, antibody purification and/or screening, and antibody conjugation followed by QC activities such as A260/280, SDS-PAGE, western blotting, sterility testing, ELISA, BCA, and fluorescence testing. All data & results associated with a project must be compiled into a project summary.

Additional Responsibilities:

Attendance in Lab Meetings, Full Staff Meetings, and weekly Work Order Meetings.

• Must review transcript if meeting missed or follow up with supervisor

Lab Safety

Operations Assistant

StressMarq Biosciences is seeking an Operations Assistant to join our growing company. This is a full-time position reporting to the Operations Manager. This position maintains day-to-day operations and works alongside both Sales/Marketing and Lab departments.

Core Responsibilities

Shipping and Receiving

• Works within Sage 50 Quantum Accounting software, FedEx Ship Manager Software, and the CERS reporting platform
• Fulfills daily product sales via purchase order processing
• Print relevant datasheets if teammates are absent or busy
• Maintains inventory databases
• Submits end-user invoices to sales and marketing team to update Zoho
• Monitors levels of office and/or lab supply to alert Operations Manager when inventory decreasing
• Receives and processes incoming lab and office materials and supplies
• Maintains shipping/receiving databases (DB-003.00 Incoming Materials Database)
• Alerts relevant staff of inventory arrival and distributes goods based on original requestor
• Converts received items immediately from purchase order to invoice
• Relief coverage of receipt and processing of incoming materials and supplies
  • Relief maintenance of shipping/receiving databases
• Receives and handles dry ice for protein shipping

Purchasing

• Processes supply orders for office and labs through online and phone systems
• Input data for accounting purposes

Reporting and Data Analysis

• Cross references Primary (SBI) and Secondary (US hub) inventory counts to ensure accuracy
• Generates meeting minutes from Work Order and Full Staff Meetings

Customer Support

• Responds to customer and distributor emails
• Scientific technical support for customers

Shipping support

• Follows up with shipping carriers and monitors shipments to ensure timely delivery
  • Answers regarding phone calls regarding shipping, technical support, product support

Lab work

• Maintains physical product inventory
  • Aliquots antibodies to ensure adequate inventory

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Neuroscience, Biology, Biochemistry, or a related life science field preferred
• Highly organized with excellent attention to detail
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
• Must be able to lift at least 40 lbs
• Comfortable working both with a team and independently
• Experience with SAGE 50 Accounting and/or FedEx Ship Manager software considered an asset

This entry-level role is ideal for a recent graduate in life sciences who is eager to learn and contribute to a dynamic and growing company. With guidance from the Marketing Manager, the Assistant will execute marketing communications activities, support customer service and technical sales activities, and assist with general office operations.

Core Responsibilities

Marketing Communications

• Prepare and execute marketing communications activities, including e-newsletters, social media, blogs, flyers, website updates, product launches, advertising, etc.
• Participate in national and international scientific conferences and trade shows as needed

Sales & Technical Support

• Respond to product inquiries and provide technical support to customers
• Prepare sales quotes and following up with customers
• Maintain accurate records of customer interactions and sales data in CRM systems

Administrative & Operational Support

• Update and manage marketing and customer databases (e.g., MailChimp, CRM)
