Scientific Background |
Malondialdehyde (MDA) BSA Conjugate is a well-established marker of lipid peroxidation and oxidative stress in neural tissues. MDA is generated during polyunsaturated fatty acid degradation and forms covalent adducts with proteins, altering their function and immunogenicity. In neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer’s, ALS, and multiple sclerosis, MDA-modified proteins accumulate in affected brain regions, correlating with inflammation, synaptic loss, and neuronal death. MDA also promotes the formation of neoepitopes that trigger autoimmune responses. The MDA-BSA conjugate is used in ELISA and immunohistochemistry to quantify oxidative damage and monitor disease progression, making it a valuable tool in translational neuroscience and biomarker discovery. |
