Scientific Background LYS6K2 is a selective inhibitor of p70 ribosomal S6 kinase (S6K), which plays a critical role in protein synthesis and cell growth downstream of the mTOR pathway. In neuroscience, LYS6K2 is used to study mTOR signaling in neuronal development, synaptic plasticity, and neurodegeneration. By blocking S6 phosphorylation, LYS6K2 helps elucidate the role of translational control in brain aging and neurodegenerative disease progression. Its cell-permeable nature makes it suitable for in vitro and in vivo studies of mTOR-S6K signaling in the nervous system.
