Scientific Background SRPIN340 is a selective inhibitor of serine–arginine protein kinases (SRPKs), particularly SRPK1 and SRPK2. These kinases regulate alternative splicing of pre-mRNA, a process increasingly recognized in neurodegenerative disease mechanisms. SRPIN340 has been used to study the role of aberrant splicing in diseases such as ALS and frontotemporal dementia. Its ability to modulate splicing events makes it a promising tool for investigating RNA-based pathologies in the nervous system.
