Structure of Nicardipine HCl

Research Background: Nicardipine is a dihydropyridine calcium-channel blocking agent used for the treatment of vascular disorders such as chronic stable angina, hyptertension and Raynaud’s phenomenon. Its mechanism of acion is to inhibit the transmembrane influx of calcium ions into the cardiac muscle and smooth muscle without changing the serum calcium concentrations.
