Beta Synuclein Pre-formed Fibrils (PFFs) & Monomers
Beta synuclein is a presynaptic protein closely related to alpha synuclein, sharing structural similarities but exhibiting distinct functional and pathological properties. Unlike alpha synuclein, beta synuclein does not aggregate under physiological conditions and is believed to help maintain vesicular membrane curvature. Wild-type beta synuclein has been shown to inhibit alpha synuclein aggregation, while mutant forms such as V70M and P123H have been linked to Dementia with Lewy Bodies (DLB).
StressMarq Biosciences offers a range of beta synuclein protein constructs, including pre-formed fibrils (PFFs) and monomers, designed for use in neurodegenerative disease research. Human beta synuclein PFFs do not induce endogenous alpha synuclein aggregation in primary rat hippocampal neurons, making them ideal as experimental controls in synucleinopathy studies. These reagents support investigations into protein interactions, aggregation dynamics, and disease-modifying mechanisms.
StressMarq manufactures wild-type beta synuclein fibrils and monomers for use in neurodegenerative disease research.
