| Scientific Background | XIB4035 is a small-molecule GFRα1 agonist and GDNF pathway modulator with neuroprotective and neuroregenerative activity. It activates RET signaling and promotes neurite outgrowth, mimicking key effects of the neurotrophic factor GDNF. The GDNF–GFRα1–RET pathway is highly relevant to neurodegeneration research. In a Parkinson’s disease mouse model, RET was shown to be essential for the neuroprotective and neuroregenerative effects of GDNF, supporting the use of XIB4035 as a tool to study neuronal survival and repair mechanisms. |
