Transthyretin (TTR) Filaments & Monomers
Transthyretin (TTR) is a tetrameric transport protein primarily involved in the delivery of thyroxine and retinol-binding protein. Misfolding of TTR is associated with systemic and hereditary amyloidoses, including familial amyloid polyneuropathy (FAP) and senile systemic amyloidosis (SSA). Amyloidogenic mutations such as L55P and Y78F destabilize the native tetramer, promoting dissociation and aggregation into insoluble fibrils. These aggregates can be quantified using turbidity assays and are implicated in tissue damage and organ dysfunction.
StressMarq Biosciences offers a selection of mutant TTR protein aggregates. Our reagents support research into protein misfolding disorders and help accelerate the development of disease models and targeted treatments.
StressMarq manufactures L55P and Y78F TTR filaments and monomer constructs for use in neurodegenerative disease research.
