Immunology

What is immunology?

Immunology is the branch of science encompasses the immune system. The immune system is responsible for protecting an organism from pathogens.  Malfunctioning of the immune system can cause diseases; from severe allergies caused by hypersensitivity, to immunodeficiency and autoimmune diseases.

The immune system consists of innate immunity, which involves non-specific responses to a variety of potential pathogens, and adaptive immunity, which involves specific responses from antibodies and T cells.

Immunology research is diverse and includes a variety of potential applications.  One promising application involves manipulating the immune system to fight cancer, known as immunotherapy.

Immunology research requires a great diversity of life science products. We are dedicated to developing cutting edge research products to aid in the study of immunology, including monoclonal antibodies, polyclonal antibodies, antibody conjugates, small molecule antagonists, and small molecule inhibitors.
